Cost: $20 per participating child (Ages 3+) plus HCU site fee and entry fee into Croft State Park

Description: This class will be devoted to teaching children about  all things bamboo. Children naturally love the magic of bamboo. In this  class they will have the opportunity to get to know bamboo as a natural  resource for creating. We will provide various and sundry bamboo  specimens for crafting. Kids will have the opportunity to make creations  using their own imagination. We often see creations such as bamboo  charcoal drawings, jewelry, cups, staffs, spears, bow and arrows,  walking sticks, dream catchers, wall hangings, wind chimes and wands.

We will also give the children the opportunity to fill their own  (provided) small bag full of bamboo pieces to take home and play with.  This is a fluid class that can be tailored to whatever the children  desire to do with bamboo. We can build something useful, craft, or just  appreciate the beauty and natural usefulness of this precious resource.

Please Note:  We will bring all tools, glues,  twines, etc. necessary for numerous creations, but children and families  are welcome to bring their own tools and crafting materials.  All  parents must remain on site during the class.  No Drop-offs! Parents are responsible for the safety and behavior of their children  at all times. You will be asked to sign a waiver before participating.

Additional Cost:  Croft State Park is over 7000 acres and offers everything from a  playground to hiking and biking trails. As a state park, there is an  admission fee: $3 for adults over the age of 15, $1.50 for seniors, $1 for kids ages 6-15, and free for children age 5 and under. This admission fee is NOT included in your ticket price and must be paid separately upon entry into Croft State Park.
