About the event

We love the science programs at the Spartanburg Science Center!  Here are two we're doing this year.

1PM: Ecosystem Dynamics (3rd-5th+ grade)

What  happens to organisms when the environment around them changes? How does  a food chain work? What makes an ecosystem healthy? During this lesson  we will explore all of these questions and more through interactive  games, problem solving exercises, and more!

2PM: Chemical Reactions (K5-2nd grade)

Introduces  students to chemical reactions and shows them how to spot a chemical  reaction (evidence of a chemical reaction).  During this lesson we will  perform multiple experiments to explore chemical reactions but will  focus on how heating and cooling substances can be reversed in some  cases and not reversed in others.

SCHEDULE

12:45 Both classes arrive.

1PM 3rd-5th does the class; K5-2nd explores the science center.

2PM K5-2nd does the class; 3rd-5th explores the science center.

Please arrive NO LATER than 12:45PM to check-in.  This is so that the coordinator can get to be with her kids (instead of hanging by check-in the whole time), and so that your kids do not miss the class.

You can tour the center at your own pace.  Each program is 45 mins.

COST

$6.00 per student taking a class (includes student group admission)

Siblings that are not participating in the class, & adults, pay admission to the science center.

• $5.00 for siblings, & adults

CANCELLATION POLICY

Tickets are non-refundable, but you may transfer them to another homeschooling family, if you are unable to come.
