About the event
This field trip is led by Hatcher Garden's Education Guides. Students will learn about Native Americans in Upstate South Carolina, their lifestyles, transportation, housing, food, and crafts, and observe various native species that were important to our native people. Roughly an hour. Free play/exploration after staff led portion. Feel free to pack a picnic lunch, there are numerous areas to eat together.
Open to all ages, but may want to make sure you feel your kids are old enough to get something from it. I imagine most school age students will.
When we arrive we will meet as a big group, then they will divide us up into 15-20 students in a group (plus parents & babies) per education guide. To keep this as simple as possible (since I will have a newborn with me), at that time if you'd like to be in a group with someone you know…
