Life Cycles Biology Field Trip - May 23 Class

As ‘Biologists,’ students conduct life cycle field investigations in a creek and on land, they collect animals, measure water/air temperature and measure the length of animals from the creek. To collect animals, students wade into Mountain Creek while wearing rubber boots. In the park lab, these animals are made larger than life with the park microscopes. Emphasis is on classifying and comparing animals according to life cycle stages, metamorphosis, and the need for habitat in all stages of life.

Program was designed for 2nd grade, but from experience last year students both a little younger, & a little younger, could still get a lot out of it. I believe our oldest kids last year were about 5th-6th, and youngers were in Kindergarten.  Younger siblings are allowed, but kids ages 2 & over will have to pay for a spot, even if they're just along for the ride.

$6 per child (2 years old & up)

If there are 1-25 kids we will do 9:30-11:30 AM.

If there's 26-40 kids, second group would start after lunch, with both groups having the option to do a guided lake hike, while the other group does the lab.  If you have a preference on group times, please let me know, and I will do my best to fulfill the requests in the order that they came in.  <3

If you have your own tall boots, you are welcome to bring them, but the park does provide boots for us to wear during the field trip.

CANCELLATION

Tickets are non-refundable, but you may transfer them to another homeschooling family, if you are unable to come.  

A limited number of refunds may be available for emergencies, but only if our minimum total is met with the park.

Please note that excessive no shows to events, can result in a member not being able to register for an event for awhile, as it can effect our relationship with venues.
