All roles come with the expectation that you'll treat fellow members, and staff of venues we use, with respect, and maintain the privacy of member information.

  • Event Coordinator

    Self starter. Able to take charge & organize events and/or field trips alone, or with other volunteers. Experienced coordinators can help you get started, and with planning questions. You are committing to organize at least 2 events and/or field trips.

  • Assistant Coordinator

    Helps coordinators plan events. For those who want to help plan an event, but don't want to take the lead. You will be added to the Coordinator chat group, so that you can see when a Coordinator may need help, but you are also free to present event ideas that you would like to ask a Coordinator to help you plan.

  • Team Coordinator

    Self started, organized, and kind. Keeps in touch with many of our teams to help projects progress.

  • Pod/Club/Meet-up Leader

    Lead an educational pod, club, or regular meet-up, either topic based (like an art club, or a PE club...etc.), or a social meet-up (like a regular park day...etc.). Registration for a pod, club, or meet-up has to be open to all HCU members, though they can have limited capacity. Please coordinate with the Small Groups Coordinator.

  • Event Helper

    Helps with at least 3 events. Which may be things like set up, clean up, or prep. Please contact the coordinator of an event you want to attend, to let them know you can help. If they do not need help, please watch for any needs during the event, like clean-up of the area.

  • Accounting Team

    Work with the HCU treasurer to maintain monthly filings, budget, and other bookkeeping. New additions to this team will be reviewed by the board.

  • Website Communication

    Approve new member profiles, and kindly answer questions sent through the website. Perfect for someone who would prefer to be doing computer work, over in person roles.

  • Events Registration Editor

    Due to limited coordinator profiles, we need a designate to set-up events registration on the website for coordinators. If you're good with organization, it's pretty simple.

  • Website Team

    Website maintenance, & new page creation. Platform is Wix.

  • Yearbook Leader

    The Yearbook Leader will coordinate the yearbook team. Must be a self starter, & able to finish the project in good time. Work with photographers.

  • Yearbook Team

    Work with the Yearbook Leader to create the yearbooks.

  • Equipment Manager

    Keeps a log of where HCU equipment is, with a check-in/check-out system when a piece of equipment is needed for an event.

  • Equipment Storage

    Do you have a free closet? Meet your requirement by storing HCU equipment, and working with the Equipment Manager to have coordinators pick up things they need.

  • Office Admin

    Help with office work: typing up documents, making phone calls, sending emails, spreadsheets, etc.

  • Photographers

    Photograph events and field trips and be responsible for uploading photos to the yearbook. You are committing to nicely photographing at least 5 field trips and/or events.

  • Shipwreck Cove Crew (Aug. 20)

    Set-up, and check-in team. Counts as helping at 1 event, for those doing the Events Helpers role (3 are required).

    Coordinates field day, and leads that volunteer team.

    Help plan our end of the year ceremony, graduation, and party.

    Help set-up, or clean-up, for Closing Ceremonies. Counts as 1 event, for Event Helpers.

  • Journalism Club Parent Help

    No experience necessary. Help the kids who are writing, photographing, or doing a video report. Pod will meet every 3-4 weeks in person, and communicate in between through a parent involved student chat area.
