About the event
Chase Owens is a charismatic presenter and a passionate animal conservationist. He rescues reptiles, amphibians and other "ugly creatures". Chase's animal friends travel in style in his custom-built mobile habitat trailer to ensure their comfort. As a skilled carpenter and builder with big love for the animal kingdom, Chase is a great example for kids who envision a future where their natural talents and greatest passions can successfully merge. Chase spends a great deal of time presenting to students at schools and special events to create awareness. Join us for this educational but fun and engaging event for children of all ages.
Fee and Attendance Info:
$12 per up close participant. We want every child who wants a close encounter to have that opportunity so we need to cap it at 40 kids.
Participating kids will be asked to sit in a semi-circle on the ground while Chase presents a few creatures. My husband and I will make sure the kids are engaged and seated properly. Since some of Chase's creatures are sensitive to noise, we will teach the kids a hand signal at the beginning of the show to help them understand when we need the excitement volume to be a bit lower for creature comfort. Parents and siblings with no ticket will be able to enjoy the show seated on picnic tables just a couple of feet back from where the upclose participants are seated. After the initial presentation, partcipating kids will be asked to line up for a tour of the habitat trailer. Chase will bring a few animal friends out for pets and photos with others while kids are touring the trailer. Once kids with tickets have finished the tour, parents and other siblings who are curious are welcome to take a peek as well. Chase usually offers a finale where participants will be asked to return to their seating for a very special up close encounter with "Big Girl"....whose name really says it all.
After you turn into the church parkinglot you will drive between the church building and another building on the left. Parking is available just beyond the church playground on the right. Park your car then head toward the large pavillion with the black trailer parked in front of it. Restrooms will be available in the church directly across the parkinglot from the pavillion (near where you have likely parked).
Note: If you aren't familar with the area, Rainbow Lake Rd. is right off of Hwy 9 where there are plenty of places to grab lunch just a couple of miniutes away from the event.
